How we handle your information.

Plain language, because there is nothing to hide. This is how the Jewish Futures Fellowship collects, uses and protects the personal information of everyone who applies.

Who we are

The Jewish Futures Fellowship is a community initiative for young Jewish South Africans, in partnership with King David Schools. If you have any questions about this page or about your personal information, contact us at jff@sabje.co.za.

What we collect

When you apply, we collect the information you give us in the application form: your name, email address, mobile number, date of birth (optional), city, school, your answers about yourself, and your CV if you upload one. We also collect the optional extras you choose to share, such as your LinkedIn profile.

Why we collect it

We use your information for one purpose only: assessing your application for the Fellowship. If you are shortlisted, we use your contact details to arrange your interview and to communicate with you about the programme.

We do not sell your information, and we never use it for marketing.

Who sees it

Your application is confidential. It is visible only to the selection panel and to the small group of administrators who run the Fellowship. Everyone with access is bound to keep your information confidential.

Your CV is stored in a private, secure storage area that is not publicly accessible. It is viewed only through short-lived, secure links by authorised administrators.

If you are under 18

If you are under 18 when you apply, a parent or legal guardian must review your application and consent on your behalf. The consent checkbox in the application form covers this.

How long we keep it

We keep your application for as long as it is needed to assess applications and run the Fellowship. If you are not selected, or if you ask us to remove your application, we securely delete it along with your CV.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask us at any time to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also withdraw your consent and ask us to remove your application. Email jff@sabje.co.za and we will take care of it.
